Daley Blind has been given the “green light” to resume normal training following the Ajax defender’s recent health scare.

The Netherlands international has not featured for the Amsterdam side since December 10 after he was found to have inflammation of the heart muscle.

However, Ajax manager Erik ten Hag had good news on the defender’s progress.

“He’s being monitored constantly and he’s undergone many examinations,” Ten Hag said in advance of Sunday’s Eredivisie clash with PSV Eindhoven.

“They’ve been so good that this week, he got a green light.

“As of now, he can do everything, and he’s back in the group. He could potentially return to playing very soon, but it’s hard to say exactly when.”

Ajax went on to get the better of PSV thanks to a 35th-minute Quincy Promes goal.

The victory keeps them three points clear of AZ Alkmaar at the top of the Eredivisie.
