Ajax’s Eredivisie visit to Groningen on Sunday afternoon was called off after less than 10 minutes of action.
The home support were unhappy at their relegation and made their feelings about the situation known.

Fans hurled smoke bombs onto the field and attempted to enter the field of play in a bid to show their frustrations.
The contest was temporarily suspended by the referee initially but after attempting to restart proceedings on nine minutes and similar incidents occurring, he was forced to permanently abandon the fixture.
It is the second time this season that Groningen have had a game called off due to the misbehaviour of their fans, with their game against Nijmegen a month ago also abandoned after clashes with police during the first half.
