Ajax want to sign Paris Saint-Germain’s 17-year-old prospect Quentin Ndjantou. The Amsterdammers hope to lure the great talent away from PSG, although the French are determined not to let that happen, according to L’Équipe.
‘Ajax bets on PSG attacker Quentin Ndjantou’, L’Équipe headlined on Monday morning. The teenage attacker, who can also play as an attacking midfielder, is considered a great talent in Paris. Last Sunday, he was crowned champion of France with PSG’s U19 side.
Ndjantou has not yet made his debut in the first team, but the high-scoring talent was already part of the match selection for the duel with Montpellier on 10 May (4-1 win). It is not known whether Ajax sees him as a player for the reserves or for the first team.
Coach Luis Enrique is said to be reluctant to let Ndjantou go. His contract expires on 30 June. The Champions League winners want to avoid a move to Ajax at all costs and is aiming for a contract extension. PSG are confident that this will happen, it can be read.
It is not entirely unexpected that Ajax will be ending up with another talent from PSG. At the beginning of May, the Amsterdammers already got hold of Roméo Garnier. The 16-year-old Frenchman, also an attacker, signed a three-year contract in Amsterdam.
