Ajax midfielder Davy Klaassen says former coach Erik ten Hag can succeed at Manchester United.

Klaassen, speaking on the Pak Schaal Podcast, also hailed the talent of teammate Jurrien Timber.

“He can do everything for me. Then they always say: 'Yes, he is small', but he also wins his aerial duels, so that doesn't mean much to me," Klaassen said of Timber.

"He's not normal, he just dribbles past everyone now and then.

"What doesn't he have? He is strong, he is fast. He is calm on the ball. So good."

Timber has been linked with United, where he could be reunited with Ten Hag.

"I did not say that," Klaassen responded when asked whether he has told Ten Hag that Timber should stay with Ajax.

Former Everton midfielder Klaassen thinks United have made a good move by appointing Ten Hag.

"England is something different, of course. It is all a lot more intense. On the other hand, I think: he has such a clear football vision. If the players at United want to accept that and can implement it he can do very well there too. This is a super big challenge. I really hope he gets the time and support from the football people there."
