Ajax transfer target Abaka Sylla has been criticised by his current boss Scott Parker for his lack of discipline while playing for Club Brugge, Voetbal International reports.
Parker watched on as his side lost 3-1 to Belgian Pro League leaders Genk to extend their lead to 15 points in a hotly contested match which saw his counterpart Wouter Vrancken receive a red card before half-time too.
The Ivorian centre-back received his marching orders in the second-half after the referee ruled to have struck striker Paul Onuachu. The 20-year-old appeared to have lost his temper over the official’s decision to the point his teammates had to intervene and escort him down the tunnel.
Speaking a few days after the weekend’s defeat, Parker confirmed he spoke to Sylla this week and warned him that reaction is not the sort of conduct he expects from his players as he prepares to welcome rivals Anderlecht to the Jan Breydel Stadium this weekend.
“I explained to him how I see things. We will not tolerate such behaviour,” he said.
“Abakar is a very young player who still has to grow and learn a lot. At that age you make mistakes, I was young too. It is my job to guide him and to make him understand what is and what is not possible. He will have to learn quickly. He’ll be fine. Abakar is a good, talented boy.”
