Ajax tell Barcelona Frenkie De Jong 'is not for sale'

Ajax have reportedly told Barcelona that youngster Frenkie de Jong is not for sale at any price this summer.
The 21-year-old enjoyed a breakout season with the Amsterdam side last time out, starting in 26 games and impressing at both centre midfield and centre back.
Barça are just of a number of teams thought to be interested in signing the Netherlands under-21 international, but according to De Telegraaf Ajax have insisted that De Jong will not be leaving.
The Blaugrana are believed to have met with the player’s agent over the weekend and with sporting director Marc Overmars.
It was at this meeting in the Dutch capital that the Catalan giants are believed to have offered €40m for the versatile youngster and to allow him to play next season on loan at the Johan Cruyff Arena.
Ajax though, were insistent that there would be no deal and that the player was not for sale.
The Eredivisie outfit already look set to lose Mathijs De Ligt this summer and do not want to sell two of their most promising stars in the same window.
