According to De Telegraaf, Bertrand Traoré is set to return to Ajax after reaching a verbal agreement with the Dutch giants. The former Chelsea and Aston Villa winger has agreed a two-year deal with the club following his departure from LaLiga side Villarreal. Traoré will undergo medical tests over the weekend before the club make an official announcement.

Bertrand Traoré spent the 2016/17 season on loan at Ajax from Chelsea. In 39 appearances he netted 13 goals and provided six assists, making him a popular player at Johan Cruyff Arena. Prior to his loan spell in the Dutch capital, the Burkina Faso international spent two seasons in the Eredivisie with Vitesse. Lyon, Aston Villa and İstanbul Başakşehir are also on his CV, but most recently he spent last season with Villarreal.

Now Bertrand Traoré is set for a return to Ajax in what seems like a decent bit of business from the Amsterdam club. The 28-year-old is capable of playing anywhere across the front line, but predominantly plays as a right-winger. Head coach Francesco Farioli plans to play him on that right side.
