Maurice Steijn’s side were virtually assured qualification with a commanding 4-1 lead from their opening encounter in Bulgaria ahead of Thursday’s return leg.
Matías Tissera settled a largely cagey affair at the Johan Cruijff Stadium shortly after the hour mark to halve the hosts’ comfortable advantage.
But Ajax held on to seal their spot in Friday’s group stage draw ahead of their Eredivisie trip to Fortuna Sittard.
