Ajax have reportedly reached an agreement with Netherlands international Wout Weghorst.
According to De Telegraaf, the 32-year-old Burnley centre-forward will sign a deal until 2026 with the Amsterdam club.
The Championship side are set to book a date for his medical in the coming days as he looks to return to his country.
Weghorst previously hinted at joining Ajax in an interview with Kicker and now returns to the Eredivisie after six years away.
“For me, the total package has to be right, we get our fourth child and we have traveled a lot as a family in recent years,” he said. “Ajax is the biggest club in the Netherlands, I don’t need to say more.”
Weghorst previously played for FC Emmen and AZ Alkmaar before spells with Manchester United, Wolfsburg, Besiktas and TSG 1899 Hoffenheim.
