Ajax are apparently already working on a successor to Brian Brobbey. Alfredo Pedullà has reported that the Amsterdam club have inquired about the availability of Inter Milan striker Sebastiano Esposito.

According to the transfer market journalist, the Italian youth international has attracted interest from Ajax, although he doesn’t specify how concrete that interest is. The report does indicate that the Amsterdam club have contacted Inter.

Besides Ajax, several Italian clubs have also expressed their interest. Udinese are monitoring the situation, while Fiorentina and Cagliari are also watching Esposito’s progress. The latter two clubs have already indicated they are unable to strike at this time.

Esposito’s chances of playing time at Inter are minimal. Manager Cristian Chivu has set his sights on signing Ademola Lookman from Atalanta.

Voetbalzone reported on Wednesday that Atalanta are strongly interested in Brobbey, although La Dea first want to make a move once Lookman leaves.

Inter currently consider Atalanta’s asking price for Lookman, reportedly €50 million, to be a bit too high. Once that deal is finalised, Atalanta expect to make an offer for Brobbey. Brobbey’s money would allow Ajax to return to Inter for Esposito. The 23-year-old striker spent last season on loan at Empoli and scored eight goals in 33 Serie A matches.
