Ajax star Kenneth Taylor has been tipped to move to a European giant in the near future having been called up the Netherlands national team.

The midfielder could make his first international appearance on Thursday against Poland in the Nations League having made Louis van Gaal’s squad for the first time.

With the World Cup on the horizon it’s good timing for the 20-year-old, who broke into the Ajax first team under Erik ten Hag last season.

And Taylor has got off to a flyer under new manager Alfred Schreuder this term, scoring three goals and contributing two assists in seven Eredivisie games.

Former Ajax boss Aad de Mos, whose career in management spanned over 30 years, is a big fan of Taylor and tipped him to move to one of Barcelona, Real Madrid or Manchester United soon after the World Cup.

He told VoetbalNieuws (via Sport Witness): “He will be the revelation of the Oranje at the World Cup. He is already one of the best players on the field at Ajax. He will stay for another year after this, then it will be Barcelona, Real Madrid or Manchester United.

“If there are two buses parked in front of him, he knows how to make the right choices towards the strikers or players in his area. And he is two-footed. If the team is compact, you don’t have to be afraid. He has an iron will to defend and has a good head. A very talented player.”

Ten Hag’s arrival at United may prove to be key in luring Taylor to Old Trafford.

The Dutch boss managed to sign both Lisandro Martinez and Antony from his former side in the summer for a combined fee of close to £150m and there are frequent rumours of further attempts to land players from the Eredivisie giants, including Jurrien Timber and Brian Brobbey.

Donny van de Beek is another United player to have made the move from Ajax, where ex-United goalkeeper Edwin van de Sar oversees much of their transfer business.
