Steven Berghuis has been banned for the first three matches of the 2023/24 Eredivisie season.
A one game suspension was already sealed for the midfielder as he picked up his fifth yellow card of the season on his final appearance of 2022/23 and the one-game ban that carries will be transferred over to the new campaign.

But the KNVB and Ajax have confirmed a further two-game ban after a video revealing he punched a Twente fan after Ajaxâs final day defeat.
Reports claimed Berghuis, who later apologised, lashed out after the supporter racially abused his team-mate Brian Brobbery.
