Ajax winger Antony has impressed with his performances since the summer of 2021 and he has already caught the eye of Europe’s top clubs who are fighting teeth to teeth for his signature. Bayern Munich were also among them.

In the summer of 2021, the interest in Antony from Bayern Munich continued to increase, just like the uncertainties around Kingsley Coman’s future began to increase as well. Bayern were ready to sell Coman even in that year too, in order to fund Antony, however, Ajax weren’t going to give up on their player that easily.

According to Ajax insider, Mike Verweij, Bayern Munich were very serious and were ready to pay 30 million euro for Ajax’s Antony last summer in order to replace Kingsley Coman.

Speaking on Telegraaf’s Kick Off Podcast, the insider claims that now the interest of the Bavarian giants has significantly dropped due to the extension of Kingsley Coman.

As Antony continues to shine for Ajax, the Dutch club will no longer accept offers around that amount. With Coman’s extension, Bayern are no longer interested in Antony, although they are seemingly interested in another Brazilian winger, Raphinha of Leeds United.

One thing is for sure, Bayern’s interest in a winger might determine Serge Gnabry’s future, who is yet to extend the contract. Both Antony and Raphinha would be expensive if one is to be bought, but we pray that the rumors are only inside pressure on Gnabry to extend as soon as possible.
