Ajax are in talks with Urby Emanuelson regarding an assistant coach role in John Heitinga’s first team staff for the upcoming season, Voetbal International reports.
Emanuelson worked for Jong Ajax last season, where he assisted Frank Peereboom. Peereboom will, like Marcel Keizer, also get a role in the staff of ‘Ajax 1’, but Emanuelson will probably be promoted and could find a role as an individual trainer. The discussions are ongoing.
Emanuelson went through the entire Ajax youth academy, where he played in the first team between 2004 and 2011. In that time, he made a total of 255 games in all competitions.
In the first years, he played alongside newly employed boss John Heitinga. After that, his career took him to AC Milan, Fulham, AS Roma, Atalanta, Hellas Verona, Sheffield Wednesday, FC Utrecht and the amateurs of Ajax.
