According to Ouest-France, Ajax are in talks to sign FC Nantes goalkeeper Alban Lafont (25), who will be allowed to leave the French club this summer.
With just two years remaining on his deal, Lafont’s time at the Beaujoire could be coming to an end. The Frenchman alluded to a departure at the end of last season, with Antoine Kombouaré confirming the player’s desire to leave, as well as the club’s willingness to faciliate such a departure.
Whilst Nantes have been preparing for life without, quickly identifying Clermont Foot’s Mory Diaw (31) as the priority target, they have not been able to advance a deal with no club coming forward with a concrete proposal to sign Lafont. That could now be about to change.
According to Ouest-France, Ajax are in talks with Nantes over a move for the goalkeeper. The Eredivisie side, now managed by former OGC Nice manager Francesco Farioli, also showed interest in the player last summer. Lafont’s departure would likely see Nantes quickly conclude a deal to sign Diaw for around €2m.
