Manchester City are seemingly on the verge of losing another crucial component of their hierarchy, with Ajax reportedly swooping in for the club’s loans manager.

A number of Etihad Stadium staff members have been at the centre of pursuits from various clubs across the past 12 to 18 months, with Southampton in particular eyeing up members of Manchester City’s operation.

Most recently, City confirmed that their Academy Director Jason Wilcox would be leaving the football club at the end of the ongoing 2022/23 season, in order to take up a new role at Southampton.

Wilcox follows the path taken by leading scout Joe Shields, who left Manchester City for the south coast club last summer, before moving on once again just weeks later, this time joining the new project at Chelsea under Todd Boehly.

Now, according to the information of Football Insider, Manchester City’s ‘loans manager’ Kelvin de Lang is currently in advanced talks to join Ajax, where he has been offered the position of Head of Recruitment.

De Lang’s current role within Manchester City is officially termed as Head of Talent Partnerships and Placements – a position that he is understood to have held for the last seven months.

Prior to making the move into the role last November, Kelvin de Lang was Manchester City’s Head of European Youth Scouting, and had held the position since July 2017.

Elsewhere, Pep Guardiola’s assistant coach Enzo Maresca is reportedly being eyed by Blackpool for their vacant managerial position, as the north-west club go in search of a new direction under a young manager.
