In a recent interview (via Soccernews.nl), Ajax head coach Alfred Schreuder advised Mohammed Kudus to stay amid interest from Everton earlier this year. Schreuder said,

“During the period that Everton wanted him, I also told him: You are going to be very important to us. That has come true and I also indicated to him to think less in positions, but mainly in possibilities on the field. having a completely different type in striker with him than Brobbey, I see as a great luxury.”

Kudus’ Impressive Numbers In Dutch Football This Season

Kudus is having a decent campaign at the Johan Cruyff Arena after putting in some eye-catching performances for Ajax in the final third. The 22-year-old has banged in eight goals and secured one assist in 12 matches for the Dutch club this season across various competitions.

The Accra-born sensation has seen most of his appearances coming off the bench but has done well to average 1.3 shots and 1.9 dribbles per 90 minutes in the Dutch Eredivisie. He has even been accurate when distributing the ball in the final third, as evidenced by his pass completion rate of 85.6% in the English first division (stats via whoscored).

Kudus’ current contract with the Dutch club is set to run out in the summer of 2025. Hence, it won’t be easy for the Toffees to sign him next summer.

What Should Everton Boss Frank Lampard Do With Regards To Kudus?

Kudus can use his quickness to make some decent runs with the ball and has developed a knack for scoring a handful of important goals for his team. He is proficient at generating a yard of space for himself to get a few strikes in on-target.

The Ghana international can strike the ball with power and accuracy from long range and hardly gives away the ball cheaply in the opponent’s half.

Recruiting someone of Kudus’ quality will no doubt be a massive coup for the Toffees in the future. We can expect him to inject more firepower into Everton‘s attacking department. He has what it takes to become a success story in Premier League football. Hence, Frank Lampard should think about orchestrating a concrete move to bring him to Goodison Park this winter or at the end of this campaign.

At 22, Kudus will only get better in the coming seasons which makes him a perfect, long-term option for the Merseyside club to consider next year.
