Inter already have an agreement with Ajax goalkeeper Andre Onana which will see the Cameroonian join on a free transfer.

This according to Italian news outlet FCInterNews, who report that the 25-year-old is settled on joining the Nerazzurri on a four-year deal worth a net of €3 million per season.

Onana made his return to the pitch for Ajax in the Dutch champions’ recent Champions League win over Besiktas after serving a one-year doping ban, but he acknowledged that his time at the club will come to an end next summer.

The Cameroonian had been a target for Lyon, Arsenal, Newcastle United, and Barcelona among other clubs, but it is the Nerazzurri who have won the race for his signature and will formally complete the move as soon as they are able to.

Onana will soon have to choose his shirt number, and it remains to be seen whether he will be able to take the Number 1 shirt immediately.

Captain Samir Handanovic currently holds the 1 number and it remains to be seen whether the Slovenian will stay on past next summer.

Meanwhile Onana’s preferred number 24 is currently taken by Christian Eriksen, whose future in the Nerazzurri squad is still uncertain.

The Cameroonian could tentatively settle on the number 16, but what is clear now is that he plans to join Inter next summer when his contract with Ajax expires.
