Barcelona will try to offload a fair few players during the summer transfer window in an attempt to raise money and return to the 1:1 spending rule in La Liga. They have been on strict financial restrictions, which has deprived them of spending in the league.

However, this year, they want to part with every player that does not have a future at the club, and maybe even an important asset or two also.

With several players on loan, and doing rather well, too, Barcelona’s job does become easier. Among those players is Sergino Dest, who seems to have resurrected his career at PSV Eindhoven.

The Dutch giants are interested in signing him, but will face competition from one of their rivals.

Homecoming on the cards?

According to a report from ESPN, PSV have a €10 million buy clause in place in Sergino Dest’s contract, which they can trigger anytime. However, they will face competition from Ajax, who are also keen on re-signing the American.

They intend to make a competitive offer to Barcelona, but will likely not be able to overrule PSV’s purchase clause which gives them the priority over Ajax.

Dest has done exceptionally well at PSV this season, playing as a left-back primarily and scoring two goals and giving six assists. His role and responsibility has been likened to that of a winger with his footwork, speed, and light-footedness.

What other players will Barcelona sell?

There are a fair few other players on loan from Barcelona. Some of their futures are set in stone, like Clement Lenglet.

The Catalans want him to leave the club this summer, and Aston Villa themselves could make an offer to buy him permanently after a series of solid performances in the second half of the season.

Eric Garcia and Ansu Fati are also reportedly heading towards the exit door. The latter could stay at Brighton & Hove Albion on loan for another season, while the former is attracting interest from within La Liga.
