Ajax announce new deal for Klaas-Jan Huntelaar

Klaas-Jan Huntelaar has extended his contract with Ajax, the Dutch giants have announced.

The technical manager, who works under director of football Sven Mislintat, was out of contract this summer but has now penned a new deal until the summer of 2027.

His role will largely focus on the pathway and progression of U23 players to the first team as well as overseeing the contracts of players in the youth academy.

“I am mostly carrying this role on my own, but I will work together with scouting and Sven, of course. The full picture is very important for my development,” he stated.

“We had many good conversations about that before we decided to extend my contract.”

It offers Ajax certainty following a season of turmoil that resulted in Edwin van der Sar’s departure last month.
