Following links to Arsenal and others in recent weeks, Ajax goalkeeper Diant Ramaj has told the media he’s taking the rumours as a compliment.

Ajax goalkeeper Diant Ramaj has seen his name in the headlines recently, with Arsenal joining the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea in reportedly showing an interest in his signature.

Speaking to the media about those links, Ramaj says it’s nice for him to hear.

“I’ve heard that too, yes. I see things like that as feedback for my work here,” Ramaj said.

“I see the fact that big clubs are showing interest as a compliment. I will continue to work on everything, as I am doing now.

“I don’t let myself get carried away, I just stay calm and keep improving details.

“That’s all that’s in my head, I’m too busy for other things [like a transfer] – that’s work for my agents to deal with.”

Sport Bild reporter Christian Falk reported recently that Arsenal, United, and Chelsea are all interested in Ramaj ahead of this summer.

The move would be a somewhat surprising one for the 22-year-old, who only joined Ajax in August.

Before that, Ramaj had been playing his football for Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt, but he only made two first-team appearances in his two seasons with the side.

The move to Ajax is proving a lot more fruitful, with Ramaj making 29 senior appearances for the club on top of a couple of u21 outings.

Ajax have struggled defensively this season, and the Germany u20 international has only kept four clean sheets in 20 Eredivisie appearances so far.

But the stats show that the goalkeeper has conceded fewer goals than his post-shot expected goal tally, so it’s hard to blame him for his team’s performances at the back.

It’s also worth noting that Ramaj is above average at stopping crosses and making defensive actions outside of his penalty area, two traits that Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta seems to value in his goalkeepers. David Raya excels in both areas.
