AIMC have announced that all banners will be displayed upside down for tonight’s clash between AC Milan and Cagliari. It comes as a result of the Rossoneri’s decision to drastically change the ticket sales for Milan clubs around the world.
The Italian Association of Milan Clubs, also known as AIMC, plays a very important role for Milan as fans are gathered from all over the world to support the club. Up until recently, these clubs had the option to buy tickets collectively, making it easy to plan and organise trips.
However, just a few days ago, Milan announced to AIMC that tickets will have to be bought individually by the Milan club members. It’s a nightmare decision that resulted in an emergency meeting yesterday between CEO Giorgio Furlani and AIMC, as confirmed by the latter.
During the meeting, it was established that Milan club members will have a dedicated sales phase, similar to what season ticket holders have and at the same price. Cuore Rossonero cards will be required for each Milan club member for IT reasons, but eventually members will be able to access the sales phase through the AIMC membership card.
As a result of the above, AIMC have decided to display all banners at San Siro upside down for tonight’s game against Cagliari. The statement also said the following about the change in general:
“Although the reasons and rationale behind this new sales method are very clear to us, it would have been reasonable and certainly more respectful for this method to have been planned in advance together with AIMC, and to be introduced from next season. This would have allowed Milan clubs, with the support of AIMC, to activate and organise themselves in time,” it read.
