Ahmetcan Kaplan wants to leave Ajax, old club seeks contact | OneFootball

Ajax may lose Ahmetcan Kaplan this summer. According to TransferFeed, the Turkish defender has expressed his wish to leave Amsterdam this summer. Kaplan’s first club is therefore seeking contact with the Amsterdammers.

Kaplan came to Amsterdam in 2022 and initially joined up with Jong Ajax. Due to some injuries, it took a while before the Turkish defender broke through for Ajax’s first team. However, in the 2023-2024 season, the young defender was increasingly put in the starting line-up.

The man-marker did not get a lot of playing time under Farioli and that undoubtedly bothered him, leading to Kaplan aiming for a departure.

As per TransferFeed, Trabzonspor seems to be the desired destination. On X, the medium writes that the club from the Süper Lig is seeking contact with Ajax to discuss the transfer. Kaplan is said to have expressed the wish to return to Trabzonspor, the club where he first came through the ranks.
