MIAMI – The 2025 Concacaf Central American Cup continues with CD Águila hosting CD Olimpia in Group D on Tuesday at Estadio Cuscatlan in San Salvador, El Salvador.
CD Águila is coming off a 2-nil win against fellow Salvadoran side CD Hércules to collect its first three points of the campaign, placing the club within reach of the top two. Mauro Caballero’s first-half brace was enough to see the team earn the victory at the Cuscatlan, the setting of the upcoming encounter.
In CD Águila’s 2-0 win over CD Hércules in Week Three, Mauro Caballero’s second goal marked the 350th goal in the history of the Concacaf Central American Cup, excluding Play-in matches. Caballero also became the third CD Águila player to score a brace in the CCAC, joining Carlos Salazar and Dionatan Machado, both of whom achieved it against Port Layola from Belize in 2024.
Olimpia occupies the second-place spot with six points after consecutive victories in the first two match weeks of the tournament. Jorge Benguché scored in both encounters and is the club’s all-time scorer in the CAC with six goals.
