AGF football chief Stig Inge Bjornebye admits he's in talks with Liverpool goalkeeper Kamil Grabara about his situation.

Grabara has shone on-loan with AGF this season. The 22 year-old played 35 games for the Danes, producing ten clean sheets.

Bjornebye admits they face a battle to extend Grabara's stay given his campaign and growing reputation, revealing there's major competition for the shot-stopper across Europe.

Former Liverpool left-back Bjornebye told Bold: "I am in close dialogue with Liverpool about his situation. There are others interested and we do not have all the power over that situation, because he still has a three-year contract with Liverpool.

"It is they and Grabara who decide his future. The only thing I can do is be clear in the dialogue with Liverpool about our wishes. Such is the case with loan players where you do not have full control."

Indeed, Bjornebye says the best AGF can do is simply offer Grabara another chance of regular football in a supportive environment.

He added: "It is clear that a player like Grabara, with a three-year contract with Liverpool and interest from several places, has ambitions to play at the highest possible level. We can do not do much other than be clear with our wishes, because it is difficult to control the process for us."

While Bjornebye says Grabara has a three-year contract, the Poland U21 international's deal with Liverpool expires next summer. This was his second loan spell with Aarhus GF while with the Reds, having also spent last year on-loan with Huddersfield Town.

Bjornebye, now 51, spent eight years with Liverpool and won the League Cup in 1995. He also won the same competition during his three years with Blackburn Rovers.
