Transfer market expert Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Dani Olmo’s agents are ready to open discussions with RB Leipzig regarding Barcelona’s latest offer after it emerged that the player is keen on joining Barcelona, having agreed to a six-year contract with the club.

In recent days, Barcelona have shifted focus away from pursuing Nico Williams, as the Athletic Club player continues to delay his decision on a transfer.

With the transfer window closing in just a month, Barcelona realise that they need to act quickly to finalise their targets.

Barcelona are quite serious about Olmo

There has been a lot of talk surrounding Olmo’s potential move, and it’s clear that RB Leipzig has rejected two previous offers from Barcelona.

In their latest attempt, Barcelona has proposed a new deal to the German club. This new offer includes a base amount of €47 million, with an additional €13 million in performance-related bonuses.

If all the conditions outlined in the offer are met, the total value of the deal could reach around €60 million.

The breakdown of the offer includes €3 million based on the number of games Olmo plays and another €10 million tied to the titles he wins with Barcelona.

To make the deal more attractive, Barcelona have also suggested paying nearly €25 million upfront in September, with the rest of the amount to be paid in instalments.

However, according to Romano, Barcelona have also made another proposal, guaranteeing a fixed fee of €55 million, with €4 million in easily achievable add-ons and an additional €3 million in more challenging add-ons.

At present, Olmo is prepared to join Barcelona under a six-year contract, but the final outcome hinges on how his agents negotiate with RB Leipzig.

It remains to be seen on what grounds the negotiations will conclude, but a dialogue is set to commence soon, and both sides are working to reach an agreement before the transfer window closes.
