The agent of Flamengo midfielder Robert Piris da Motta has insisted that the player’s situation at the club remains untenable.

Signed from Argentinian side San Lorenzo in August 2018, the Paraguay international has found himself on the fringes at the Rubro-Negro.

His contract with the Copa Libertadores champions, which was automatically renewed on Friday, runs until 2022.

With his 26th birthday coming up next month, Piris da Motta has been linked with a move to Mexican side Atlas.

However, agent Isidro Gimenez denied any approaches have been made for his client, and bemoaned the circumstances the defensive midfielder finds himself in.

“The player’s situation in the club is public knowledge. Today, there is no possibility to continue like this,” Gimenez told the Urubu Interativo website.

“There are still no clubs [bidding] because the player is very undervalued. It is difficult to get a club for a valued player. Imagine the one who isn’t,” Gimenez added.

Piris da Motta began his career with Rubio Ñu in his homeland before moving to San Lorenzo in 2017.
