Agent: Ronald Araujo wants to stay at Barcelona

According to the player’s agent, Uruguayan defender Ronald Araujo is happy with life in Barcelona and wants to extend his contract.

The 22-year-old’s future has been subject to speculation as Real Madrid are rumoured to be interested in acquiring the young defender’s services but his agent, Flavio Perchman, was quick to dispel the gossip.

“Ronald is a Barcelona player,” he said. “He has a year and a half left in his contract. He is very happy in Barcelona and wants to continue there.

“I don’t give any weight to the rumours of Real Madrid’s interest.”

Araujo has already featured 15 times in the LaLiga for the Catalan giants, scoring twice, including a goal in Barcelona’s 1-1 draw with Sevilla last month.
