Agent Lorenzo De Santis has revealed that last summer, Atlético Madrid launched a bid for Racing Club midfielder Matías Zaracho, who won the Player of the Year award in Argentina at just 21 years old.
Now, the player has been linked to AC Milan, who have been tied to a large number of South American players.
“Zaracho is from the class of 1998 and was awarded the best player of the Superliga for the 18/19 season, which attracted many European clubs, especially Atlético Madrid, who had also made an offer important to him.
“However, Atlético had to surrender to the resistance of Racing who decided to keep him for the Copa Libertadores.
“Zaracho is a very interesting player, with a very “European” style. He moves intelligently and combines an excellent leg with undisputed technical skills.
“He has the innate ability to insert himself into the game without the ball but also the ability to meet the ball and dribble with his team-mates.
“He is very attentive to the Milan environment, he likes them very much.”
The player was called up to the Argentina national team last March, taking part in a friendly win against Morocco.
