Manchester United’s struggles to land a left-back this summer have been well documented.

The club have already failed to complete a move for Ben Chilwell and Sergio Reguilon. To add an insult, both of these players joined rival clubs – Chelsea and Spurs respectively.

United could lose another target to a European giant. An injury crisis in their team is forcing PSG manager Thomas Tuchel to sign a left-back and they are ready to make a move for Porto’s Alex Telles.

Telles remained United’s only option at securing a left-back this summer after lsoign out on Reguilon and Chilwell.

Not anymore.

According to a report by Get French Football News, Portuguese superagent Jorge Mendes is seeking to place 19-year-old French youth international left-back Rayan Aït Nouri at Manchester United.

Ait Nouri broke out at French club Angers and has caught the eye of several prominent footballing clubs. His following in England includes Crystal Palace.

Ait Nouri was set for a move to Palace earlier this year, but the deal was scuppered due to a major jaw injury for the player.

Manchester United want to sign a left-back this summer. The club have already had a few near misses. Current starting left-back Luke Shaw’s injury problems makes this position a must address for United.

All this being said, a move for Rayan Ait Nouri is very unlikely.

As stated in the report, Manchester United have concerns over Ait Nouri’s lack of European experience. United want to sign a player who would be a definite upgrade to their current squad members.

And its makes sense. United have a similar player in Brandon Williams. United should move more better quality players. Its not a time to buy talents, develop them and reap benefits a couple years later.

A move for Alex Telles remains United’s best chance at achieving that goal.
