The agent of striker Mateo Retegui has responded to the idea that there is interest in his client from AC Milan amid the recent transfer links.
Milan are on the hunt for a new centre-forward who can lead the line for years to come given that Divock Origi has not hit the ground running since his summer arrival while Olivier Giroud will turn 37 this year and Zlatan Ibrahimovic is in his 40s.
Calciomercato.com recently reported that the Rossoneri are closely following the development of Mateo Retegui, a 23-year-old striker currently on loan at Tigres from Boca Juniors who scored 19 league goals last season.
The father-agent of Retegui spoke exclusively to Sportitalia amid the speculation that Milan are among the clubs lining up a potential move ahead of the summer, with his comments relayed by MilanNews,
“Above all, he is inspired by Ibrahimovic, Van Basten, Vieri and Batistuta. Interest from Milan? I will say that we know that there are various teams in Italy interested in him. The club will certainly talk to anyone who shows interest in signing him,” he said.
