Agent Lachter: Zakharyan can break mould at Chelsea; Kanchelskis only Russian to succeed in Prem | OneFootball

Agent Denis Lachter hopes Dynamo Moscow winger Arsen Zakharyan can join Chelsea this week.

Chelsea are expected to meet Zakharyan's buyout clause this week, as confirmed by his agent.

Lachter, meanwhile, told Metaratings: "I still don't understand how Zakharyan can play at Chelsea, to be honest. Do you imagine the 'bank' of Chelsea? Perhaps he moves to Chelsea because someone wants to re-sign the contract on better terms. There are different magical stories. Let's wait a bit, the transfer window is about to close.

"It will be great if he becomes a Chelsea player. We can only rejoice. The main thing is that he does not spin there, and so, everything is fine.

"Football taught me that everything happens in this life. Jump is 10% success. You can also cross the road, but whether he will play or not is a big question. In England, few people have succeeded.

"Only (Andrei) Kanchelskis truly played in his time in (Sir Alex) Ferguson's great Manchester United. The rest of the guys - with varying degrees of success. Our last delegation, after Euro 2008, failed. It will be great if the young kid breaks the stereotype that Russians are mediocre footballers."
