Up-and-coming Atalanta defender Giorgio Scalvini has a host of admirers across Europe but has only recently agreed to extend his contract in Bergamo.

Scalvini’s agent Tullio Tinti, who also represents Inter Milan’s Alessandro Bastoni, told TuttoMercatoWeb that his client has generated plenty of interest.

“Scalvini is such an important player that all of Europe’s top clubs are interested,” he said.

“He is young – he has time to do everything he needs to do.”

However, Tinti also informed potential suitors that Scalvini has recently pledged his long-term future to Atalanta, penning a new multi-year contract at the Gewiss Stadium.

Asked if the 19-year-old had extended his contract with La Dea, he replied: “Yes, that is the case.”

If the latest reports in Italy are to be trusted, Scalvini extended his deal with Atalanta only a few days ago in silence.

His annual wages more than doubled from €200,000 to €500,000, but that salary would unlikely bother any Premier League club that may step up their interest in the Italian starlet.

Following an eye-catching breakthrough season in Bergamo, Scalvini has become one of the most wanted prospects in Serie A.

Juventus and Inter Milan were among the first clubs to register an interest in his services, with the latter’s CEO, Beppe Marotta, recently acknowledging the Nerazzurri’s ambition to take him to Giuseppe Meazza.

But the Italians aren’t the only high-profile clubs keen on offering the prodigious defender an opportunity to take his career to the next level.

Perennial Premier League champions Manchester City have also spotted the youngster’s potential as Pep Guardiola aims to inject fresh blood into his backline.

Scalvini spoke highly of England’s top flight in February, hinting at a potential move in the future as he named it the ‘best league for me.’

Since he is now tied to Atalanta until 2027, it’s understood they may demand up to €40 million to green-light his departure this summer.
