Dele Alli and Harry Winks are set to play a huge role at Tottenham under interim manager Ryan Mason, according to Gabby Agbonlahor.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-England and Aston Villa striker suggested the pair will be introduced from the bench against Southampton and will be in with a real chance of starting Spurs’ Carabao Cup final on Sunday.

Dele and Winks were both used sparingly under Jose Mourinho in the latter months as his period as Tottenham manager.

Winks has played just once in the Premier League since January while Dele has just two league starts under his belt all season.

Mourinho left his position on Monday morning and Football Insider revealed Ryan Mason and Chris Powell were set to take interim charge.

The pair will be in the dugout for the first time when Spurs take on Southampton on Wednesday.

“I think what will happen is, Winks and Dele Alli will come on for 30 minutes in midweek,” Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.

“If I was doing it, I’d bring them on for 30 minutes against Southampton get them some game time and see how fit they are from it.

“Then maybe I do start them in the final.

“I do play [Harry] Kane, [Hueng-min] Son, [Gareth] Bale, Dele Alli as a number 10, Winks and [Tanguy] Ndombele.

“I just play them. You’ve got nothing to lose. You’ve been given a chance.

“Play the right team don’t just play a team that can track back.”

If the 33-year-old is keen on a switch to the Premier League talks will continue.
