FC Barcelona booked a place in the Copa del Rey final last night as they beat Atletico Madrid 0-1, and thus got the better of the Colchoneros in the semi-final of the competition with a 5-4 triumph on aggregate.

Ferran Torres was the lone scorer at the Metropolitano and his goal was enough to make the difference for his side after the first leg had ended in a 4-4 draw.

As SPORT has reported, the Spaniard also talked to the media after helping the Blaugranes reach the final, where they will meet Real Madrid.

When asked about whether the Barcelona players feel themselves to be the favourites for the big titles, the winger admitted that they do so internally:

“We do internally, yes, but that doesn’t mean we should relax. We have to keep believing and working with humility, and surely, things will come.”

Torres could not hide his excitement of winning against Atletico Madrid and at the prospect of playing the final against Real Madrid:

“Winning here already feels amazing, so just imagine achieving qualification for a final. And if a final is already highly motivating, then imagine it against your biggest rival.”

His goal had come after a pass from Lamine Yamal and the former Manchester City forward explained his chemistry with the youngster on the pitch:

“I always tell him that I make the runs, and he just has to set me up to tap it in.”

Despite not being a starter, Ferran Torres has been a very important part of Hansi Flick’s Barcelona team this season. He once again showcased his importance last night, as his contribution was vital for the Blaugranes to get over Atletico Madrid. Hopefully, he will be able to continue making such contributions in the coming months as well and help his team win a big trophy.
