Juventus have decided to send Arkadiusz Milik back to Olympique Marseille, allowing Lazio to swoop in for the Polish striker.

Maurizio Sarri met with president Claudio Lotito in Formello this week to discuss their plans for the summer transfer window, where the coach made it clear that he expects a reliable centre forward to join the squad and provide backup to captain Ciro Immobile.

The Lazio coach wants to bring in Milik, whom he remembers well from their brief time together at Napoli. The Polish forward spent the 2022-23 season on loan at Juventus, where he scored nine goals in 39 games across all competitions.

As detailed by Corriere dello Sport (via LazioNews24), Juventus have decided not to pay €9 million for Milik and so will send him back to Olympique Marseille, who are now ready to find a new home for the Polish striker.

Sarri has already spoken to the 29-year-old, who has made it clear that he’d be willing to make the move to Rome, so Lazio will now look to focus their efforts on the centre forward.

The only slight concern is Milik’s salary; he currently earns around €3.5 million net per season, wages he’d have to lower if he wanted to push through the move to the Biancocelesti.
