Bayern Munich chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has had enough after Corentin Tolisso and Rafinha suffered major injuries suffered at the weekend.
During Bayern’s 3-1 win over Bayer Leverkusen, Corentin Tolisso tore the cruciate ligament in his right knee as a result of a tackle.
In addition, Rafinha will be out several weeks to over a month with damaged ankle ligaments following Karim Bellarabi’s stamp.
“It can’t go on like this or by matchday 10 (in the Bundesliga), we won’t be able to put out 11 players,” said Rummenigge.
“We don’t like the way teams are playing against us and that has to be sorted out somehow.
“In this regard, we must ask the DFB (German FA), and referees, in particular, to protect our players.”
Rummenigge believes teams are deliberately attempting to injure Bayern’s squad in hopes of winning matches.
“It’s partly motivated by the public, under the motto ‘stop Bayern Munich by any means.’ That’s completely unfair,” he added.
