Sunderland AFC is on the verge of securing a new signing. The English club, recently promoted to the Premier League, is nearing a deal worth almost €23 million with Club Brugge to acquire Chemsdine Talbi.
After snapping up Habib Diarra from Strasbourg, Sunderland is making its ambitions clear by moving for one of the brightest prospects in the Jupiler Pro League—Chemsdine Talbi. The 20-year-old Moroccan is coming off a stellar 2024-2025 season with Club Brugge, where he featured in 38 matches across all competitions, netting 7 goals and providing 4 assists. He truly made his mark on the European stage, scoring a brace against Atalanta Bergamo in the UEFA Champions League.
According to journalist Sacha Tavolieri, Sunderland AFC and Club Brugge are close to finalizing an agreement of €23 million, including bonuses. Chemsdine Talbi is expected to arrive in England early next week to complete his transfer. The Moroccan winger is set to sign a five-year contract with the Black Cats.
