The 2023 Africa Cup of Nations is underway with shocks aplenty in the group stage.
Host nation Ivory Coast are set for a nervy final game against Equatorial Guinea after defeat to Nigeria on Thursday night, in a Group A that remains completely open.
African giants Ghana and Egypt are certainly up against it in a Group B that Cape Verde have already won having beaten the Black Stars and Mozambique - who took a point off Egypt to open their campaign.
On Friday night, attention turned to Group C when defending AFCON champions Senegal beat Cameroon, while Algeria are still in danger of suffering an early exit despite snatching a late point against Burkina Faso.
Across four weeks of football, 24 nations will battle it out for the biggest prize in African football. The top two of each group will go through plus the top four third-placed sides, ahead of a knockout stage beginning in the last-16 later this month.
This year's AFCON was delayed from last summer due to concerns over the monsoon season in west Africa.
