AFCON: Liverpool ace Keita stars as Guinea defeat depleted Malawi
Tribal Football
Liverpool midfielder Naby Keita played as Guinea ran out 1-0 winners over Malawi in their AFCON opener on Monday.
Malawi, making a third appearance at the finals, had 13 members of their squad unavailable following a COVID-19 outbreak in their camp.
Despite their disadvantage, Malawi mustered several good chances to score against Guinea.
However, Syli Nationale rallied after 35 minutes to score the only goal of the game.
Reds star Keita was instrumental, releasing Jose Kante with a terrific pass before the ball was set-up for Issiaga Sylla to score.
