Dons aiming to build after last season fizzled out

AFC Wimbledon must build on a season that fizzled out this time around.

While manager Johnnie Jackson was rewarded with a new contract in February and saw his team record a famous win over MK at the new Plough Lane, Wimbledon fell away in the play-off chase.

The Dons won just three of their final 11 games in League Two, finishing five points behind seventh-placed Crawley, who ultimately beat MK on their way to winning promotion.

The new season sees Jackson’s side host Colchester, before taking the short trip to Bromley in their second game.

The first meeting with MK is at home on September 14, with the reverse fixture coming on January 25, 2025.

The traditional festive period will see Swindon come to town on Boxing Day before the final game of the calendar year is at home to Gillingham.

The final game of the season sees the Dons play away at Grimsby.
