Bournemouth and Brentford settle for a point each after a goalless game at the Vitality Stadium. The away side looked the most likely to score throughout the match, having opportunities on either side of half-time. Damsgaard had a low whipped shot palmed away by Neto in the first half, with Ajer and Jansson failing to trouble the goalkeeper with headers. However, their best chance of breaking the deadlock came through Toney, who was quiet for most of the match. Latching onto a flicked pass from Dasilva, the striker could only shoot the ball over the bar from close range. As for O'Neil’s side, they were toothless in attack for the majority of the game but could have had a penalty on 21-minutes. Racing into the box, Zemura went down under the challenge of Ajer who seemed to have missed the ball completely and clattered into the defender. With no penalty given, referee Bramall was sent to the screen to check the tackle, but decided the Brentford man did nothing wrong and stuck with his original decision.
