The advisors of Manchester City star Kevin De Bruyne met with 10 Saudi Arabian clubs ahead of the Emirates FA Cup Final on Saturday.

The 32-year-old was hooked off during the second-half of Manchester City’s disappointing Emirates FA Cup Final defeat to local rivals Manchester United at Wembley Stadium, as Pep Guardiola’s side concluded an historic campaign with an agonising 1-2 loss.

The Sky Blues suffered a first defeat since December and failed to clinch a fourth trophy of the campaign, as first-half goals from Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo punished a lacklustre Manchester City in north London.

Julian Alvarez replaced De Bruyne in the 57th minute, with the Belgian international playing his 26th game of the campaign for the Blues, after De Bruyne missed a significant part of the season due to a hamstring operation in August.

The defeat to Manchester United marked the conclusion of De Bruyne’s ninth season at the Etihad Stadium, with the midfield star set to enter the final 12-months of his current deal imminently.

De Bruyne is out of contract in east Manchester at the end of next season, with manager Guardiola also seeing his current deal expire in 2025, following the expanded FIFA Club World Cup in the United States.

The Belgian international would be eligible to sign a pre-contract agreement with another team from January, meanwhile Saudi Pro League clubs are eying a summer move for the 32-year-old.

The future of several senior members of the Manchester City first-team squad is subject to scrutiny ahead of next month’s transfer window, and The Mirror claim that De Bruyne’s advisors met with 10 Saudi Arabian clubs last week regarding a potential big-money move to the region.

Al Hilal are amongst the Saudi clubs targeting the Belgian, who is reportedly set to reject the Middle Eastern interest in favour of a future move to the MLS, where San Diego FC have recently held preliminary talks with De Bruyne’s party.

The midfielder reportedly would prefer to eventually move to America, and could sign a contract extension with Manchester City before a future move stateside.
