Adu Ares made his first team debut for Athletic Bilbao in their 0-0 draw with Real Mallorca.

After replacing Iñaki Williams in the 86th minute of the opening game of LaLiga 2022-23 against Mallorca, Ares became the 633rd lion to make his debut for Athletic Club's first team.

The Bizkaia-born player was given the final minutes of the game against Mallorca to be part of Valverde's attack and share the front line with Guruzeta, who made his reappearance at San Mamés, Raúl García and Nico Williams.

The right-footed attacker was the first of the youngsters to make his debut this season under 'Txingurri'. After his remarkable breakthrough last season with Bilbao Athletic and the great pre-season with the lions, the Bilbao native enjoyed his first minutes in the elite.

"It's something I've been fighting for since I started this. I dedicate it to my family, without them none of this would have been possible," declared Adu to the Club's media at the end of the matchday 1 fixture.
