Troyes centre-back Adil Rami (37) was seething after his side’s defeat at the hands of Clermont for Ligue 1 gameweek 30 this weekend. The City Football Group-owned Troyes are now in 18th place, and seven points away from 16th position, which would guarantee their survival in the top tier of French football. The 2018 World Cup winner with France has expressed his frustration with this teammates’ commitment to save the club from a Ligue 2 relegation. “I don’t know if I’m sad for some players who are giving up on their careers, Rami said to Amazon Prime Video Sport. They will have to question themselves. The mentality is not good, and the defeat was logical.”

Rami did not hold back and Troyes’ manager Patrick Kisnorbo was also on the receiving end of Rami’s ire. When asked whether the Australian manager’s instructions continued to be heard and followed within the squad, Rami shrugged and did not really offer him words of support. “I’m asking myself this very question. I’m going to kick this one into touch because I have eight games left with that coach, and if I can play the most minutes I can… Besides, I have less and less cramps so it’s not a good time!”

Rami will reunite with his former club Marseille when Troyes will travel to the Velodrome on Sunday for Ligue 1 gameweek 31.
