The Womenโs World Cup is now just a few months away and adidas have revealed stunning designs for six nationsโ away jerseys.
All six jerseys are inspired by the unique natural landscape and stunning scenery of the countries in question.
โStriking landscapes from Serranรญa de Hornocal in the north to Ushuaia in the south, the Argentina away kit signifies the diverse natural landscapes found across the country.โ
โThe Colombian away kit pays homage the many hues of the Caรฑo Cristales River โ often referred to as the โRiver of Five Coloursโ โ celebrating the unique changing phenomenon that occurs due to the reflection of light against the water. Utilising traditional federation colours, re-imagined through the lens of flowing water and the reflection of light, the design brings in a fresh look that celebrates the countryโs rich biodiversity.โ
โGermanyโs away jersey is inspired by the various deep green woodland areas found within the country โ from the Black Forest to the Zauberwald. The various shades of green and bespoke handmade graphic celebrate Germanyโs vast woodlands โ which cover an area equivalent to one third of the countryโs land mass.โ
โJapanโs away kit takes its pink color cues from the beautiful pink sunrise that can be witnessed at Mount Fuji. The sunrise represents the collective mission of the Japanese team โ as the Womenโs World Cup emerges on the horizon โ to add another winnerโs star to the team badge.โ
โThe Spanish away jersey takes inspiration from the beautiful coral reefs that can be found around Spainโs vast coastlines โ a feature the country shares with the famous coral reefs found in the tournamentโs host nations of Australia and New Zealand.โ
โSwedenโs away jersey is inspired by the vast glacial rivers and ice caps that can be found across the country. Combining a changing glacial blue graphic, with trims and details in the iconic yellow colour synonymous with the nation โ the design seeks to highlight the beauty and importance of the nationโs glaciers.โ
Each and every kit is made from a yarn containing 50% Parley Ocean Plastic, reusing plastic waste from islands, beaches and coastlines, as adidas seek to do their bit in reducing the amount of plastic waste polluting oceans around the world.
