Adem Zorgane, who scored twice to rescue a draw for Charleroi against Mechelen at the weekend, is currently leading the league when it comes to passing accuracy. The 23-year-old Algerian international averages 64.4 accurate passes per 90 according to FotMob. Remarkably, he is the only central midfielder in the top five, with the other four being central defenders. Given his role in the build up for Charleroi, Zorgane’s 64 plus accurate passes give him an over pass success of 83.3%.
Zorgane joined the Zebras in the summer of 2021 from Algerian side Paradou AC, where he made 78 appearances and scored nine goals. The son of former Algerian international Malik Zorgane has been one of the standout players for Charleroi since he joined the club. So far this season he has played 21 league matches, scoring three goals and providing seven assists.
Under Felice Mazzu, who is in his second spell in charge, Charleroi are 13th in the table with eight wins from their 24 games. Their recent draw with Mechelen means the side have only won once in their last five games. However, they have also only lost once, with the rest being draws.
