The president of Adana Demirspor has admitted to there being some confusion over the non-arrival of midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko.
It seems that Bakayoko is set to remain at Milan and continue training with the rest of the squad until the end of his loan deal from Chelsea, which expires in June, despite the numerous opportunities to leave in January.
The move that seemed the most likely was to Vincenzo Montella’s Adana Demirspor, while the hypothesis of joining Lyon or Cremonese on deadline day also came about, but in the end it seems those opportunities have vanished.
Now, the Adana president Murat Sancak has broken silence on the situation surrounding Bakayoko, confirming that everything seemed to be in place for him to move to Turkey and then it suddenly fell through.
“It is false that Bakayoko gave up signing after seeing our facilities. He went to the Milan offices at two in the morning to sign. While Chelsea were about to sign the termination of his contract so he could sign with us… we don’t know what happened there, but he has given up on signing,” he said (via MilanNews).
