After only eleven appearances for Adana Demirspor, Édourd Michut’s (20) loan from Paris Saint-Germain will be made permanent.
Despite the limited number of appearances, Michut has impressed in those performances. Now according to a report by L’Équipe, the Turkish club have activated the purchase option included in their loan agreement for the young midfielder.
A slow start to the season can be explained partly by the expectation that the player was going to leave Les Parisiens before last summer. He had a successful loan spell with Sunderland AFC in the Championship, and it was a surprise when he turned down the opportunity to play for them.
PSG had refused to allow the player to train with them during the summer, while he searched for a new opportunity to advance his development. Meaning he still needed time to return to match fitness before he could begin making an impact for his new club.
Perhaps the reason why Adana Demirspor are so keen to swoop now for Michut can be explained by the outside interest that the young player is attracting from the Turkish giants: Galatasaray and Beşiktaş.
Both clubs have considered making a move for the player in the current transfer window, with L’Équipe stating that, Galatasaray have even begun communications with PSG over a deal for Michut.
It’s thought that the player’s stay in his new club will not be long, and an upcoming move this January could be on the cards for the Frenchman. Either way, PSG will look to net 20% of the potential resale for their academy product.
