Norwich City striker Adam Idah has spent the second-half of the campaign on loan with Scottish giants Celtic, and has impressed during his time at Parkhead.

So much so, that many Celtic supporters are desperate to make his move to Glasgow permanent this summer, and doubt remains over whether Idah will be a Norwich player come the beginning of the 2024/25 campaign.

The 23-year-old Republic of Ireland international has thrived for the Bhoys, and has scored seven times in 15 appearances, helping Celtic reach the top of the Scottish Premiership with just three games remaining.

Despite having a contract with the club until 2028, it remains to be seen what the future holds for the striker at Carrow Road and with that in mind, here is the latest transfer news.

Celtic ready to submit bid for Adam Idah

Football Insider have reported that Celtic are ready to submit a bid to sign Adam Idah from Norwich City on a permanent basis this summer.

It's reported that despite only signing a new long-term deal with the club last summer, the Canaries will accept a bid of around £5million for the Irish striker.

The 23-year-old is a player with plenty of potential, and he's performed well for Brendan Rodgers' side so far this season, so £5million looks like a very decent deal for the Bhoys, and it's money Norwich will be able to reinvest into their squad next season.

It remains to be seen what division the Canaries will be playing in next season, and despite Idah being a regular starter for the club during the first-half of the season, Norwich are seemingly happy to cash in on him this summer.

Celtic legend urges club to sign Adam Idah permanently

Celtic legend John Hartson has urged his former club to sign Norwich City's Adam Idah on a permanent basis this summer.

Welshman Hartson spent five seasons at Celtic Park between 2001 and 2006, and was a huge hit at the club, scoring 105 goals in 194 appearances, and winning the Scottish Premiership on three occasions.

It's clear that he knows what it takes to do well at the club, and him urging the club to sign Idah clearly shows that he rates him highly.

He told Balls.IE: "I like him. He’s come to the club, and not many people really knew him.

"I think when they looked him up, they saw he was not overly great at Norwich; in and out of the side, people expected more of a name, more of a high-profile centre-forward, but he’s come in. I think he’s got his head down. He’s scored seven goals in the time he’s been on loan.

"Some big goals as well in that period, and I think he can run in behind; he’s got lots of good attributes to his game. Somebody said to me, ‘Would Celtic pay £7 million or £8 million for him?’ I said, ‘I’m not quite sure Celtic are in the market to spend that much’ (on one player in the window).

"I think he’s one of them that can improve, and I’d like to see him get that opportunity at Celtic. I think he would be a very good signing."

Adam Idah seemingly has no future at Norwich City

Despite being a regular starter for Norwich City during the first-half of the season, the club were happy to loan Adam Idah to Celtic, and perhaps there are doubts over whether he is quite good enough for the Canaries, particularly if they win promotion to the Premier League.

With £5million seemingly up for grabs, Norwich appear happy to cash in, and Idah's time at Carrow Road looks like it will come to an end this summer.

The move to Celtic makes sense for all parties, with Norwich receiving a decent fee for the player, Idah thriving at Celtic, and Brendan Rodgers' side clearly benefiting since his arrival in January.

The striker joined Norwich as a youngster in 2017, and he's worked his way up through the club's academy, before making 115 appearances. However, he's been far from prolific, scoring just 17 times in those 115 games, and it appears the right time to let him leave the club.
